The Obama Race Question

To paraphrase Tina Turner, my own question would be to ask Obama, "What's race got ta do with it?!"

In 2008, when we consider the question of who would be the best candidate for the Office of President, do people actually believe Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) deserves to be elected as the first black President in order to prove to the world that America has reconciled her "race problem?" As former President William Jefferson Clinton says, "Give me a break!"

Oh, Just to See His Precious Face

"I just want to see Jesus's face." How many times have you heard somebody say those words? Perhaps you even remember saying them yourself. But have you stopped to think about what you would do, if the opportunity presented itself? Would you be frightened? Would you be shocked? Would you be elated? And, after having seen Jesus's face, how would you feel? Disbelieving? Crazy? Embarrassed? Ashamed to tell anyone that you had, indeed, seen Jesus's face ~~ at least as He revealed Himself to you? God is good. And in His wisdom, He has given me the opportunity to tell Guilford that Jesus is real. He watches and knows our hearts. How do I know? On June 28, 1983, at 8:45 p.m., I was driving my seven-year-old daughter, Shannon, to the clinic. We were silent. My eyes were fixed on the road when, suddenly, my gaze shifted upward to the sky. At first, what I was seeing frightened me. Next, I was shocked! Then a feeling of elation and peaceful calm came over me, and the message went through my mind that I did not have any worries. That nothing could hurt me.

What did I see?

LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!

 "Look at that face! Look at that face!"

The words just screamed hysterically from my mouth as I thought how much that face looked like pictures I have seen of Jesus. I could not believe what I was seeing, because I have known for years that no man has seen Jesus's face. We all know that it is just a picture that some man has conjured up from his own imagination. But there He was! Just sitting so high up in the sky looking not at me nor seeming to look at anything. It was as if someone had a movie projector and pointed it upwards with the sky as the screen. I grabbed my steering wheel and my head went down. I wanted to cry but the tears wouldn't come. I looked at Shannon and she had put her fingers in her ears and looked frightened. She was turned in my direction looking at me instead of where I was pointing up in the sky, because I had suddenly yelled out. For some reason, I did not stop the car. I was sure that when we turned the corner, I would still be able to show Shannon what I had seen. But when we turned the corner and I pointed to the place, the image had started to break up.

I did not even doubt, because I knew that what I had seen was real. Ever since that day, my life has changed. More positive things have occurred than I can tell in this forum. Now, how is it possible for you, as members of Guilford, to share in my very personal experience with God? Think back. Do you remember the June 15, 1983, Communion Sunday church bulletin? Do you still have your copy? Take a look at it and tell me what you see? Is this just an image that man conjured up? Who is the artist that captured this peaceful expression of Jesus? And, now, please tell me how this very same image could appear in the sky two weeks later? Yes, this is the image I saw that day.

Now, I ask you ~~ suppose you had seen this vision? Would you keep it to yourself out of fear that someone might think you are crazy or just imagining things? I thank God that I saw that precious face. And I have to tell everyone I meet. Members and friends of First Baptist Church of Guilford, it is out of love for you that I ask you to consider what you would really do if, and when, you see Jesus's precious face.

The Obama and Odinga Plan: From the inseparable to the insufferable

EXCLUSIVE!

There is a plan under foot for the future of Kenya, Africa, and for America, as articulated by U.S. Sen. Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL) and his Kenyan cousin, Raila Odinga (both pictured above).

Funny thing, though, how those two men seem to think just alike. And, If I didn't know any better myself, I could almost swear it was one and the same plan. In fact, I would almost swear to it. In fact, I believe I will swear to it.

If not for the fact that one plan is intended for America and the other is intended for Kenya and, possibly, all of Africa, we could almost forget that it was a plan forged to inculcate the Socialist agenda into the next administration unless our country wises up and stops being politically correct.

Let us delve into the two plans to see. Come along

Pay close attention and I'd even recommend that you would each get a copy of each plan for yourself and place them side by side for your own review. This is just an overview.

What follows is a comparison of Odinga's "A Bridge to the Kenyan Dream" (2007) to Obama's "Blueprint for Change: Obama's Plan for America." (2008)

They both start out with opening statements.

Odinga -- speaks about the "(Kenyan) Dream" and states, "We are at a crossroads." He says, "I am that bridge that links the historic moments of our past to the golden tomorrows of our future. I am the link to our forefathers' visionary path towards the Kenyan Dream. . . Make the right decision and let us, together, finally realize that dream for our (Kenyan) nation.

Obama -- speaks about the "Dream slowly slipping away." He states further, "This is a defining moment in our history. . . . I run for the Presidency because that's the party America needs us to be right now. I run to offer this country change that we can believe in. I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. So thank you for taking the time to read this booklet, which lays out very clearly how I will achieve these goals for the American people."

Odinga -- "We are on the side of the future, and the ODM-K (i.e., his Orange Party), is the only agent of change and hope. But we cannot be agents for change if we believe in 'business as usual' and if we are afraid of making tough decisions and choices that will drive Kenya forward, so that it emerges as a modern, democratic and developed country. If we know it has been done elsewhere, why can't we do it here? We cannot wait for the beautiful ones to be born after we die. We are the beautiful ones."

Obama-- His stated platform is one of "change and hope." In a speech he gave during the Presidential Primary, he said, "We are the ones that we've been waiting for."

Odinga on Poverty -- "The wealth of a nation lies in the skills of its people and their ability to work together. . . I give you a cast-iron guarantee that I will be a champion of social justice and social emancipation -- a champion for the poor, the dispossessed and the disadvantaged in the land."

Obama on Poverty -- "Obama will help low-income Americans enter the workplace and move up the career ladder. . . . Create a Green Jobs Corps - Obama will create a program to directly engage disadvantaged youth in energy efficient opportunities to strengthen their communities, while also providing them with practical skills in this important high-growth career field . . . Fully Fund the Community Development Block Grant programs and engage urban leaders across the country to increase resources to the highest-need Americans." (Obama Plan, pp. 40-43).

Odinga on Leadership -- "President Kibaki (Kenya), in the guise of serving all Kenyans, not just those who helped to get him elected, began to discharge his duties in an imperial manner. He consulted selectively and cynically dispensed with consensus. . . . restore trust in politics by discharging my duties through consultation and inclusiveness." (Odinga Plan, p. 8).

Obama on Leadership -- "Secrecy Dominates Government Actions -- The Bush administration (American) has ignored public disclosure and has invoked a legal tool known as the 'State Secrets' privilege more than any other previous administration to get cases thrown out of civil court. . . . Wasteful Spending Out of Control -- the current administration (American) has abused its power by handing out contracts without competition to its politically connected friends and supporters. These abuses cost taxpayers billions of dollars each year."

Odinga's Plan -- Here he sets out a Parliamentary System, "which would dilute presidential powers - a system that would include the post of Prime Minister." Odinga further contends that "A new constitution means national harmony from effective power sharing and accountability."

[Would Obama have the temerity to propose such a plan to the American people while he is seeking the Office of President? Every American needs to read that portion of Odinga's plan because, if Obama considered implementing this, then it is what would make the U.S. Constitution to be of no effect and make the President a figurehead of national government with the Prime Minister in charge of crucial decision-making powers granted by the intact U.S. Constitution. At which point, we could be fairly certain that Obama would appoint himself as the new Prime Minister. Good-bye U.S. Constitution? Obama remains silent on this prospect. )

Odinga on Community Power -- "Accept diversity as a valid and desirable fact of life. . . reform the system of local government to empower communities. . . . I want to engage our people in active citizenship involving them directly in the management of their neighborhoods and the services they use. . . . enable the transfer of power to communities with strong democratic and accountable local government. . . . restructure and entrench the Community Development Fund (Kenyan) by raising budgetary allocation and ensuring transparency and accountability in its administration."

Odinga on the Private Sector -- "I will ensure the establishment of a Citizen's Charter, which will state the guaranteed standards of the services that public officials must offer all Kenyans. Such services will include those involving of business licences (sic), national ID cards, voting cards and passports. The Charter will detail the procedures for individuals who need to allege complaints against public officials who fail to meet these standards." (Odinga Plan, p. 22).

[Would Obama dare to propose such a bold plan for Americans during his attempt to become U.S. President? ]

Obama on the Private Sector -- "Ask All Americans to Work Together to Meet our Common Challenges -- Obama will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots and double the Peace Corps and dedicate these positions to addressing America's common challenges. he also will provide new service opportunities for working Americans and retirees." (Obama Plan, pp. 44-49).

[Obama's plan goes on to outline Mandatory service of Americans from the ages of youth to senior citizens and college students. Obama further sets a goal towards Socialism and Globalism, which would give the U.N. a wider reach into the affairs of the United States of America under an Obama or Democrat administration.]

Odinga on Women -- "Women remain disadvantaged socially, culturally and economically. . . . revise all oppressive practices, statutes and customary laws that perpetuate gender discrimination . . . . ensure the availability of police and other legal officers as well as health and social service providers, who are specially trained to handle women who are victims of domestic or sexual violence." (Odinga Plan, p. 20).

Obama on Women -- "We need to change a system that is stacked against women. . . . Ending Violence Against Women - Obama will appoint a special advisor who will report to him regularly on issues related to violence against women. Obama will also pass legislation that provides job security to victims of domestic violence and sexual assaults." (Obama Plan, pp. 35-37).

Odinga on Education -- "I will provide training for more teachers for primary and secondary schools: improve teachers condition of service. . . . Quality and affordable education remains a must for all our children." (Odinga Plan p. 17)

Obama on Education -- "I will improve our schools by recruiting well-qualified teachers in every classroom in America. Obama will improve teacher compensation by rewarding expert, accomplished teachers for taking on challenging assignments and helping teachers succeed. . . . Affordable, High-Quality Child Care - Obama will also provide affordable and high-quality child care to ease the burden of working families." (Obama Plan, pp. 20-23).

Odinga on Health -- "Health provision is grossly underfunded and delivering universal health care is an urgent priority. . . . abolish cost-sharing, as it denies the poor and disadvantaged access to healthcare; introduce a national social health insurance scheme. . . . Increase government spending in the health sector." (Odinga Plan, p. 18).

Obama on Health -- Universal Coverage -- Obama will sign a universal health care plan into law by the end of his first term in office. His plan will provide affordable, quality health care coverage for every American." (quoted: Barack Obama, Speech in Iowa City, IA, May 29, 2007). . . . Obama's Plan to Cover Uninsured -- Obama will make available a new national health plan so all Americans, including the self-employed and small businesses, can buy affordable health coverage that is similar to the plan available to members of Congress." (Obama Plan, pp. 6-9).

What is Obama's "National Health Exchange" noted in his plan on p. 9? Universal Healthcare.

Odinga on Environment -- "We face huge environmental challenges. Deforestation, water resources, depletion, threats to biodiversity and fisheries resources, human habitat degradation, pollution and climate changes are all priority issues that must be addressed." (Odinga Plan, p. 19).

Obama on Environment -- "Confront Deforestation and Promote Carbon Sequestration: Obama will develop domestic incentives that reward forest owners, farmers, and ranchers when they plant trees, restore grasslands, or undertake farming practices that capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere." (Obama Plan, pp. 24-27).

That's why I'm running, Democrats - to keep the American Dream alive for those who still hunger for opportunity, who still thirst for equality.

The conclusion to the formidable account of the comparison

The American people have yet to realize the completely overwhelming hold over this nation that the Democratic Party has achieved over the past 20 years. And, in the interim, even though the Republican Party had the majority more times than they -- there can be none but those who stepped back and watched it happen who are to blame for the downhill climb of this nation's vastly revered standing in the world.

Those voices that have sounded the alarm went unheeded and now here we are confronted with the foundation of our society being overtaken by all that is - and would continue to be - enough to utterly tear down the infrastructure from within our very walls.

The time is past to wake from the dream from Dr. Martin Luther King. It is time to awake to dream no more but to understand how much the dream has become a reality.

If, in the awakening, we are at the twilight stage, then we will sleepwalk on.

If, however, Americans begin to awaken and have eyes wide opened and seeing what is ahead of us, then we would surely avoid the pitfalls as a nation and begin to take action to put the repairs in place which will keep us from all falling through the cracks. And, as of this moment, we are hardpressed to find Obama as the cement which would seal us as "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Obama And the Land That A Nation Forgot

"America. Love it or Leave it!"

Though the stories have surfaced in news arenas for many years about Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), there are more than enough pages to be filled with the overflow. More and more, many citizens want to know how could such a person as he have come this far in spite of all of the most damaging evidence to support his not being under consideration as the next President of the United States of America.

Americans have been deceived for so long that they have lost sight of what this nation has stood for since its inception centuries ago. It is not enough to continue to say what we must do. It is time to do what we must to reclaim this nation of Godly morals, values and mores.

Traditionalists are right. The liberals are wrong.

The more we have moved back the societal standards of decency, the more the lines have become blurred between what is right and what is wrong. And, in their attempts to change the foundational structure of America in order to gain a foothold on the liberals feeble means to bring their destruction and degradation into the most powerful and Godly free nation in the world, they have also brought in a mindset that has sought to do away with law and order and respect for those in authority. And America is steeped in the stench of ungodliness, which has gone on for so long that it has become accepted by most as an acceptable way of life without shame or the means to stem the tide.

The damage thus far, however, is not irreparable. But all of those who have been instrumental in perpetrating such a corrupt form of lifestyles are replaceable. And replaceable they must be.

Though all over this world nations have set up their form of government and people are placed in positions to secure the needs of its citizens, there can never be any excuse to have anybody in that leadership who would arbitrarily and secretly sell out the rights to life in this land of America into the hands of any foreign entities.

Nevertheless, Obama and his Democratic colleagues have long made local and overseas trips in their capacity as elected leaders. And, more often than not, as most of us are now finding out, quite a few of them have met with leaders of foreign nations (i.e., both legitimate and illegitimate) where this governmental policy is to not engage them in individual negotiations before they have met certain itemized preconditions set by this government, under the authority of the President.

Contrary to public policy, Dems have not abided by this policy and every now and then citizens find out about it only during their interviews when they mention their having had such meetings in which they have taken it upon themselves to take on ambassador-like roles to -- in some cases -- seek to go behind the scenes to intimidate and blackmail, as it were, those foreign leaders into coming around to meeting their terms in order to ensure their own political standing while Americans remain oblivious to those unauthorized tactics even when they are exposed as such.

Americans!
Once again, your wake up call is here.

Eventually you will have to realize that if you do not fight to keep faith with the United States of America Constitution and the plans of our forefathers for this nation, then we will surely all give away our rich inheritance. And it will never be the same. And this we must not continue to be a party to.

Even if every citizen of America has a Holy Bible in their possession and has taken every word to heart, it would still do no good to know it verbatim and yet be afraid to stand up and defend our right to abide by it.

Each person who knows the message of the Gospel of Jesus has a duty to project that into the world and to let that be your guide in every way and for every day. Because, unless we are faithful and have a heart for the true and living God, then we will surely fail in our every attempt to live in a nation with God's blessing. For, in Him is our peace and He shall never fail to prosper us as a nation in every way that He has promised. Strangers and foreigners in this land must never be allowed to snatch our faith-filled means of keeping America as the blessing they sought when they came from their own lands to take up residence here.

Our elected officials have received from constituents into their hands their mandate "to protect, preserve, and defend the constitution of the United States of America."

Any nationalities that land on these shores and adhere to total loyalty to their own nations once they come here ought not to expect all the rights and privileges afforded to the citizens of America just by virtue of their being here. And, in no way, should anybody from foreign shores be allowed to use the full force of our own laws to be tweaked in such a way as to conform to those laws that they left behind in their own land.

Reparations???

In 2008, we are still hearing a lot of young black people and the old-enough-to-know-better people, too, saying that "We still have a long ways to go."

I want to know where have they been and where can they NOT go now that the shackles and segregation have been broken and replaced with self-worth and integration into all the world of humanity?

I want to know what and who are continuing to fuel this animosity towards America and Americans? It did not come from my late parent's house and it did not take up residence in my home with my children growing up who are the same age as the present Democratic candidate.

How can so many of today's young, black generation be so easily misled (those who are)? How can they talk about their disdain of welfare on the one hand and hold out their other hand for reparations (those who do)?

What did they do to earn apology after apology and seek billions, except to be born black and free because of the blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors whom they never knew -- and had not the sense enough to seek out those who walked among them who could have given them experiential and sacred understanding about what the Lord had done to ameliorate their slave situation for all time?

What do they know about Manumission? Every black person was not a slave. I believe they do know that much.

Would they expect the offspring of freed blacks and the black slave holders to fork over reparations, as well?

Don't they know they cannot have it both ways? Talking about Negro History Week -- now month -- and loving the strength and heritage of all those who came from a mighty long ways to "be somebody!" And, yet here they come along crying out for vengeance in the form of blackmail payments called "a white guilt trip and reparations." And Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats across this nation have fallen for it!

Time out! Give a speech on race and talk about that!

Is this the result of an overly fed budgetary academic system in which it has become true that "A little bit of knowledge is dangerous?"

How is it that even many of the professors of academia have no knowledge apart from God in and of themselves; and, yet, many more of them got a piece of paper from a man or woman who had to be taught, themselves. And since they began to believe they had gained all knowledge, they have spawned an ignorant generation.

Americans once relied on an educational system that has now failed to instill morals and Godly values of right and wrong -- has locked out parental input from parent-teacher interaction and school board meetings -- and has introduced into the traditional family structure as acceptable, the foulest of actions in the name of "diversity." And foulest of all, is that they have taken the faith of our forefathers and foremothers and secularized it. And our government, itself, introduced the term, "bully pulpit," into the lexicon seeming to have no knowledge of the sanctity of that sacred desk. And even the word, "Minister," has come to mean solely a government employee instead of the ones called of God Almighty Himself. Is there any wonder?

This is what is trying to kill America's strong, Godly foundation such that visitors and strangers to these shores now believe this is a haven for every ungodly and wayward lifestyle that they choose. And our leadership does nothing to turn this Ship of State back around and put her on the right course once more.
