Thanks to the GOP, the People's House is still open to do the people's business. And, it's about time, too!
In an unprecedented move earlier today, the House Gop members joined by some consenting Dem members in a bi-partisan attempt fought back against Speaker Nancy Pelosi's shutting down the House without allowing them to complete consideration of the energy policy.
The Nancy Pelosi-Democrat reign is exposed as being self-serving.
The bi-partisan move of those Republicans and Democrats who joined forces today for the sake of the American people are to be applauded. When Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) ordered the lights turned out and the microphones turned off, a few GOPers remained on the floor of the House of Representatives and voiced their opposition and, not-so-surprisingly, others joined them on the floor and in the gallery.
While Pelosi and many Dems left on their 5-week vacation, the American people were left to suffer the extremely high and, possibly, rising gas costs.
The Democratic Congress would have us to believe that, as their solution for the citizens, they suggest Americans ride bicycles, walk to their jobs, buy smaller automobiles, and cut back on their groceries and medicines. And, as Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), presumptive candidate for President in the 2008 election said, "Keep your tires pumped up."
Thank God there were a few brave members of Congress who stood to say "Enough is Enough."
Those Members demanded that Pelosi either call the Congress back in session or else for President George W. Bush to call a Special Session of the House to debate and vote on the energy bill, which would allow a move towards drilling in America and for the consideration of other means of achieving energy support at home to cut gas and oil prices.
A Salute to the House Congressional Stand!
