Dr. Laurie Roth of Elk WA, a national radio talk show host for over ten years, announces her decision to explore her run for the office of The President of the United States. She is a survivor of a near fatal motorcycle wreck in August 2005. Her comeback story could also be the comeback story of America. She has publicly said, “I know this will be like climbing up Mt. Everest in a bikini with no oxygen as far as difficulty, but I love my country and believe I have the right ideas and that this is the right time. This moment is not just political, not just legal, and not just national and international, but it is also about a time to stand boldly as a proud American with freedom-loving ideas in hand to take back our country and to help keep it on track now and for future generations to come.

Being a national radio talk show host and original thinker, Roth would need to run independently as a Conservative. She is currently in the process of collecting the necessary signatures to qualify her for a Presidential run, and she welcomes volunteers to come join the campaign.

Roth expects to have two books released in July 2011. The first is entitled, The Peoples President. It describes in ten easy-to-read chapters what her vision for America is, what she believes in, and how she would work with the constitutional branches of government to fix our country and inspire Americans to return to their centuries-old idea of American patriotic exceptionalism. Roth has not kept her views a mystery from her radio show audience or from viewers of her widely read published articles about various concerns of citizens at home and abroad. Moreover, she is very much outspoken about her personal political point of view.

Her second book is entitled Two Minute Warning. This publication addresses America’s compromised condition, and Roth offers her solutions for a strategic recovery.

Some of her Platform include:

• Two percent Consumption Tax (point of purchase) and the eradication of all other taxes, including the ones most familiar to voters (i.e., Income Tax, Payroll Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Gas Tax, Property Tax, and Estate Tax). If no categories were exempt and all were taxed, then $10-20 trillion dollars a year would be made available for the Federal Budget. This amount in the Federal Treasury would help to accomplish Roth’s stated goals, which are: (1) Take care of U.S. citizens, (2) Get America completely out of debt, and (3) Put American traditional priorities back in the forefront.
• Energy Independence. (1) Gather leaders from all fields and types of energy, oil, natural gas, nuclear fission and fusion, alternative fuels and solar; (2) Establish and implement an aggressive plan to help America to become energy independent in 4 to 6 years; and, (3) Disconnect America from her long overbearing association with OPEC and the United Nations.
• Secure Borders. (1) Stop the $200 billion per year drug traffic from flowing throughout the nation, (2) Stop people from illegally entering our country by strengthening immigration and naturalization laws, and (3) Follow up with consistent, ongoing enforcement of those laws.
• Create Jobs. (1) Implement energy and transportation infrastructure projects in the U.S., (2) Provide appropriate federal funding to ensure success, and (3) Work with Congress and businesses to develop laws and policies which would better facilitate regulation, taxation and litigation, all of which  would be legislated in accordance with the constitution of the United States of America and the overall rule of law.   

Dr. Laurie Roth is presently exploring her run as The Peoples President because, as a national radio talk show host, she knows the issues and has developed viable, common sense solutions to contribute to the national dialogue. Further, Roth states, "We have seen what the politicians, millionaires and lawyers can do. Perhaps a real person 'Of the people, by the people, and for the people,' can do a much better job."

Roth is a wife, a mom, and a survivor who lives with her family in Washington State. And, to be sure, she is a woman of faith. But, for Roth, America is the only womanly gender that needs to be recognized during Roth's candidacy for such an honorable and privileged national position. America and her values, morals, and strengths by which all citizens can benefit, will be her touchstone, as Roth boldly declares, "America is the Ship of State and she will not sink on my watch."
