IT'S DRAGON-SLAYING TIME
The case is about Race. Many of the Race dragons of the past are continuing to drag America down in the 21st Century. And all of those who foster evil propensities towards racial disharmony refuse to let them shrivel up and die so that Americans would have their last days to be their best days.
In 2009, despite so many historical, legal, personal, economic, political, and religious advances made towards racial harmony and healing, we are still witnessing so much evidence to show that those dragons refuse to die. But, die they must, if America is to talk in terms of finally achieving Racial harmony and unity in the land!
Much of what I have written about has come from a foundation of life lived close to 70 years, and I thank God that my life has been lived without absorbing hatred in my mind. Rather, those things past translate into my writings and actions because of personal experience and observations. And I am now in the SPIRITUAL WAR mode, but I find that too many believers are still looking for peace to come from out of the Preacher's lips. But just not from this Preacher when we are at war! "NO!" is not a cuss word when it is spoken in season and with the thought geared towards a Godly, positive outcome!
We live in a world where even people of faith have repeatedly rejected God's Word, will, and way and have chosen to substitute their own humanist secularism for so long that they don't even know there is a definite difference. And now that they have it their way, they don't much like it but don't want to change it!
We are living in the day of revisionist history written by a generation of 1960s-type hippies and deadbeats who learned it from members of the previous generation, of which I also am. But, I like to say that I was there, but I was square. I also seldom, if ever, speak about those days in terms of what was done to generate the dictum of black power and their introduction into academia of teaching a whole new genre in order to denigrate "Whitey." At the same time, their instructors were not-so-secretly "fraternizing" with the so-called" white enemy under their own covers of darkness with their big bushes on their head, multicolored dashikis on their back, and a swagger in their step with their fists flung high in the air yelling, Black Power!
Would you believe it? That same mentality still remains among us today, but now it is draped in sheepskin and the misnomer of "expert." And, now we are left with this ugly generational warfare reputedly based on how our ancestors were or were not treated, whether they were black, white, red, or yellow (there are still no purple or green people that those detractors bring up whenever they run out of others to blame for what they believe are some white person's racist attempts to keep them down). But exactly who is fooling who? If you are Republican and black, you are also labeled as racist. But the blacks who do it (many times they are democrats), they become highly defensive, if they are called racist and refute that could ever be the case.
How do you fight a mindset like that? I was there before the Viet Nam, Black Power, civil rights, moment. I was looking on as each TV news broadcast showed the devastatingly horrific film footage of all those different events to the public. I actually witnessed flames rising up on streets in my neighborhood following the late-breaking news announcement that Dr. Martin Luther King was murdered.
And, even long before that, I had heard the white voices raised in anger saying, among other things, "Two, Four, Six, Eight, we don't want to integrate!" But, through effective leadership at that time and for whatever reasons, they all came together to try to finally stamp out wars and segregation and to make amends for long-standing, historical racial pain.
I am also among those who are known to have been the first black in various areas of life. I personally know what it was like to be kept out, put out, and put upon. But I never instilled racial hatred in my children (two eldest in Obama's generation and two youngest in their 30s). If anything, I taught them to be the best they could be and to be able to take care of themselves so they could help to take care of others in their time of need.
Long before Barack Obama was born and when he was still in diapers crawling along, I came from a family of Godly people who demonstrated "Yes We Can!" and Yes, we did. We overcame through love and determination and forgiveness in order to embrace America as Americans. Race was not the glue that sealed us to one another in community. It was the unwavering desire to respect and support others in the way that we wanted to be respected. And it was done without regard for payback. It was done for the sake of doing what was right and pleasing in God's sight.
And, as long as Americans continue to fall for the same old cons which were perpetrated on those of Barack Obama's generation and later taught to them by so-called University professors and scholars of my generation preceding theirs, then we will continue to have vain disputations about Race and about who did what and who said what and what does it all mean?!
What's more, black Americans have no more right to be indignant and repressive towards the American societal culture and values merely based on the horrific deaths of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Medger Evers, and Malcolm X and others, any more than white Americans would have to remain hateful based on the shocking and equally horrific deaths of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and more murdered leaders besides them from back in the day.
For one thing, many of those in the younger generation who are continuing to foment racial hatred were not even there in the moment. And, even if they were, they certainly were too young to know what it was like. And who are they to try to hold a grudge against any of us who have been healed from so much overwhelming pain from all those times long past? What makes these youngsters think that they know what it was really like based only on what they may have been told by others who, themselves, were long removed from any of those events and may have never even personally experienced them?
America, don't you get it?! That behavior is emotional blackmail with false charges created to make people of any hue pay who would otherwise pay the perpetrators no mind. And the fact that it is just as damaging as any mental or physical pain demands immediate action to put a stop to it and to not let it go any further. "Yes We Can" means something!
Let's take the most recent example. The main stream media and political pundits have recently crowded the airways with a made-up controversy between Rush Limbaugh (conservative radio talk show host) and former LT-Governor Michael Steele (R-MD), recently elected as the Republican National Chairman (RNC). And, from the outset, the Democrats have tried hard to publicly portray Steele's election as the Republican Party's way to compete with their triumphant victory of electing Barack Obama as the first black president of America. Whether or not it may have been the case, it remains a matter of Race for the DEMS and it is not about the quality and qualifications of any leadership candidate; or, for that matter, about the members of any organization.
THE MEDIA MADE-UP CONTROVERSY BETWEEN LIMBAUGH AND STEELE
Just after Barack Obama was nominated and subsequent to his inauguration, I happened to turn the TV to CNN Cable where, at that time, I first ran across DL Hughley. He was giddy because, as he cried, "At last a black man is going to have a TV show." Hughley was intimating that it was because Obama had been nominated, he was going to be a late night host. But, what about Arsenio Hall and the others who came up before him?
I quickly decided I didn't need to watch Hughley's show when it got started. I might also add that many other TV and radio channels aren't much better, if Americans expect to be informed about local, national, and international news without having to endure a mixture of journalism-reporter biases tossed into the mix.
On the night of that so-called controversy, my eldest son phoned me to say that Michael Steele was on the CNN DL Hughley Show on CNN. I protested but, against my better judgment, I turned to it. My initial reaction was that I was watching DL Hughley sitting like a vulture lurking near the prey eagerly waiting and ready to pounce.
Michael Steele was seen on a large screen via remote broadcast and he appeared seemingly at ease and totally oblivious about the coming onslaught. To me, he gave the impression (whether intentional or not) which said, after all, he was a black man, too, and he was an invited guest of another black man on TV (Hughley), and all he (Steele) wanted to do was to sit and talk with the host about politics, blacks, and hip hop to convey that Republicans are JUST LIKE YOU! Wrong move. I thought, "What was Steele thinking?!"
Before they had even gotten started, I was yelling in the phone to my son that Michael Steele was not helping the Republican Party and that he had no business being there in the first place. I told my son I didn't know why he (Steele) thought that hip hop was the way that Republicans needed to get the black and Hispanic vote. I already knew that, in general, they have demonstrated they will not ever agree that our nation is not just for blacks. And, they will never be satisfied until there is a black country exclusively for them inside of America or instead of America. And then Hughley and his other guest and audience proceeded to prove my observations had been correct.
DL Hughley had set it off when he asked Michael Steele if he thought that Rush Limbaugh was the de facto leader of the Republican Party. And Hughley is the one who added that Rush was "incendiary." It was then that Steele quickly responded, "I am the de facto leader of the Republican Party." Then Steele went on to say "Yes Rush is entertaining and the whole thing is ugly." But the liberal media later translated Steele's statement for their audience to say that Steele had called Rush Limbaugh ugly. Not so.
The main stream media failed to report that it was DL Hughley who had invoked the terms, "de facto leader of the Republican Party" and "incendiary." And it was after that Steele immediately picked up on it and agreed with Hughley, except to say that Rush was not the de facto leader of the Republican Party but that he (Steele) was.
More importantly, what the media has not reported (to my knowledge) is that near the end of Steele's segment, DL Hughley stated to Steele that "This country calls on the black man whenever they get in trouble to help them get out of it." And, lo and behold, Steele took the bait and chomped down hard, when he smilingly replied, "That's right and that's why I'm here!" I personally thought both of those statements were atrocious, but DL and his predominantly black Democratic audience knew they'd gotten their sound bites.
The Republican Party And Conservatives Must Choose to Ignore Chicago Democrat Propagandists
I don't know what Steele was thinking! I do know he had made a big mistake, because when you're black and the elected head of the RNC who wants to advance the Party agenda and policies, you don't follow the "blueprint" of the ObamaTRAUMA!
Steele didn't need to try to change the Republican base into little Democrats in order to get the Party elected as the majority in upcoming elections. Steele needs to stick to the expected Godly principles, values, traditions, morals, mores and the overall appeal to excellence instead of allowing the Democrats to usurp them in order to appear Godly and centrist with America's best interest at heart. America needs to have the overall Constitutional leadership that will take us far beyond the color line regardless of what color is at the helm -- and to do it for the sake of America and God.
Nevertheless, we recognize that the Obama Chicago political gangland element is alive and well and living comfortably in the White House operating out of the Oval Office home of the United States President. No matter how much pundits repeatedly warned Americans about the horror to come in the form of Barack Obama and his minions, if they elected Obama, Race appeared to win out over rational thinking and action to not allow him to be in that position. And now he is. And, he has brought with him all of his Saul Alinskyite community organizer, grassroots training.
Obama's longsuit is propaganda. He and Rahm Emanuel know how to detract citizens from crucial issues in order to not-so-subtly push through their own socialist-Marxist-communist agenda. They know how to pile on. They all feed from the same trough-like politically correct phony talking points and they use them to publicly go after a single target at the time.
While denying what they are doing, they project onto their targeted victims what they have made up in their own scenarios, and then present it to their targeted audience as if what they were dishing out was, in fact, true. They did that with Former President George W. Bush and many in his Cabinet, and with Governor Sarah Palin, and Senator John McCain and anybody else who they know is a far better opponent than they. Worse yet, Americans buy into it because of the way the DEMS persist with bombarding their message until their audience believes it and turns from the opponent to them.
A SUGGESTED SOLUTION FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY
The Republican leadership really ought to consider distributing an in-house Press Release of their own and inform all Party members, conservatives, citizens, and the news media, as follows:
The Republican leadership hereby announce that, until further notice, there will no longer be public responses made to any Democrat Party propagandists. We recognize their only purpose is to dispense unsubstantiated information intended solely to confuse the American people in order to detract from the much-needed national dialogue concerning matters which are more important to the welfare, safety, and security of all Americans. Further media inquiries may be directed to: (identify a spokesperson and an assistant). Phone number and other contact information included.
THERE IS A NEED TO OPEN UP THE REPUBLICAN PARTY COMMUNICATION LINES
If the Republican Party wants to attract memberships from among every sector of our society, then they need to consistently show they are open to welcome both newcomers and regular members, as well. People need to be able to contact the organization and be able to reach someone on the other end who will be both inviting and helpful. The Party needs to also consider getting more volunteers and increase the hours of their availability, even if they work phone lines from their homes to help keep those who reach out to the organization from going away and staying away.
Republicans in leadership need to act like leaders instead of followers. We need to have VISIONARY LEADERS who are capable of identifying, isolating, and forestalling problems which could tend to hurt or hijack Party objectives and goals; and to, instead, be able to take action to correct the oncoming situation before it even makes an appearance! (AND THEN STICK WITH IT!!)
